Philips Lumea Prestige IPL Cordless Hair Removal Device with 3 Attachments for Body, Face & Precision Areas (Bikini and Underarms) – BRI954/00

I must have spent a good 2 years considering laser treatment but in the last 8 or 9 months I did ALOT of research. Primarily because all of those silly adds/temptations popping up on my insta feed for the 59.99 deals for a small little no brand device. So it was always in the forefront of my mind anyway- don't mind the fact deforestation was required every few days for me!.I considered especially which one to buy, should I get a medium range for my first go, maybe the low range to start with?? Or just go for the best in the business? Is this safe? Will I hurt myself ? Will it work at all on me? Will it scar me?I answered mostly all my own questions by going on Youtube and checking out amazon, Littlewoods , Boots and other online retailers that carry the Philips Lumea. I also recommend checking out the Philips Lumea website - its the most informative. Amazon had the best price. Its important o check the other websites for the reviews and comments not the product info or prices.This was the only one that was getting nigh on 5/5 every time I checked and trust me I was checking regularly every few weeks over the course of 3 or 4 months I kept coming back to this brand. There would be 400 hundred reviews and mostly 5/5 maybe one or two 4's . I never came across a one or a two in my research.The Lumea comes with a 20 year guarantee and you can get alternative heads and pieces for it. Mine came with two additional attachments. Face and arms /bikini area.I highly recommend it. There is a little bit of weight to it , but you would expect it considering the technology of it. It feels strong in your hand, not like its going to break . The one I got can be cordless or you can leave it plugged in.The design is great for the hard to reach areas.I am at the end of my treatment plan which is why I waited till now to do the review.I now only have to use it once a month. And let me tell you ladies and gents, For a girl who had to shave and wax regularly - INVEST! Just do it. Read the manual carefully. Understand your product and stick to and believe in the plan - I had my doubts in the first month. But by my third treatment definitely 80% less hair on my legs ( I would have to shave every two days for smooth hair free legs. And now I'm 99% hair free on my legs. Literally nothing !Bikini area and underarms I am still working on I would say.. 70 % less hair and hair growth has definitely slowed ! Seeing a little come back but will wait the month and go back to it. That which is growing back is definitely finer so I know it will eventually be gone.I am White Caucasian Female, Dark hair, thick. Been shaving since I was 13. ( Why did I not listen to my mother!) waxing intermittently since 24. Im 32 now :) I tan very easily. However I kept my skin out of the sun for the most part.A good time to buy is coming into your winter period wherever you live so as not to tempt yourself! :) Protect your skin first !I felt no sensitivity/pain / or marks post use.There is a handy app which reminds you - not available in all countries but if you cant access it just set a reminder on your phone otherwise you will forget.No pain for me on most areas at time of use, any time I felt a little zing I did as I was told and reduced the light intensity - It still works.This is a trust worthy product, worth the money - worth the time. I'd buy it again I love it so much but ha ! I don't need to! Its worth saving for, I know you look at the price and wonder sheesh, this is a lot if you have never had laser before like me.

The Philips Lumea Prestige is the BEST thing that's happened to me in terms of hair removal. This was literally my last resort - having very sensitive skin, I have tried every single hair removal method out there: shaving, waxing, sugaring, epilating, hair removal creams etc; all of which were unsuccessful because my skin gets irritated so easily. I had heard about home IPL before but was hesitant due to the price and I was also worried about the side effects and that my skin would react to this. However after hours of research, I finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase the Philips Lumea (the best home IPL machine out there), luckily it was on sale at the time. There is a skin tone sensor that checks if your skin is compatible with the laser (not good with light hair and dark skin), and you can get a full return refund if your skin tone is not suitable. Luckily I qualified as a perfect candidate for laser hair removal (light skin and dark hair) and as a result I felt little to no pain - I was very surprised by this as I was expecting it to be a lot worse.The Philips IPL app is great to use alongside it, it reminds you when you are due your next treatment. I have only only done three treatments so far, however I am very impressed with the results - I have already noticed significantly reduced hairs. The only problem you may have is knowing which areas you have already done, because you don't want to go over them again. The circulation in my legs isn't great, which is a bonus in this situation, because I can see the imprint of the machine on my skin which is a guide I can follow!This is definitely more affordable than going to a salon, it is quick and easy to use and so so worth it!!

I noticed that there are very few reviews of the Philips IPL Prestige by men, so I hope this is useful.Edit: December 2022 update. System remains perfect. I have used at least every month for 2 years. Almost zero pubic hair growth. After shaving stays smooth for 4 weeks bar the odd few wispy light hairs. Unbelievable, the results I’d dreamed of my whole life (having been incredibly hairy). 100% recommended.I bought the system in October 2020, and at the time of writing I have used it 4 times in total. Thus far the results have been *excellent*.To give some context, I am a middle-aged man and from my early teens I became *very* hairy. I started shaving my chest, tummy and pubic area when I was 18, and have continued this pretty much the whole time until now.As other men will know, the freshly-shaved feeling is lovely, but after a day or so the stubble can be pretty uncomfortable, especially on the tummy and pubic area.So I decided to give this a go and honestly I have been stunned at the results.The first step is to shave the areas to be treated - so for me this was my chest, top of legs, groin and all pubic hair.Then I proceeded with the first treatment. It takes about half an hour to “laser” all these parts. I use the bikini attachment for the pubic area, and then the wider general attachment for my chest.The feeling varies from nothing to a fleeting sharpness. Really nothing that can’t easily be tolerated.So I shaved and did it once. Following the instructions I have now repeated this three more times, at about 2 week intervals. Every time shaving my chest, top of legs, groin and pubic hair. Every time treating all parts.Now almost 2 months in, as I say the results are quite incredible:1) Hair growth on my chest has massively reduced. The darker hairs are either not growing or are growing far slower than before. It is a little patchy but this is gradually improving. Literally after a week the hairs on my chest/tummy are sparse and growing much slower2) It hasn’t done anything for grey/white hairs though - yes I have a few and these are growing on my chest as normal - but they are outnumbered by brown hairs at least 20:1 - but worth nothing that there is still some growth3) On my pubic hair I am equally amazed. 1 week after shaving this would normally be a thick stubbly mess. Now only about a tenth of the hairs are growing back, and they are thin and sparse. It is hard to believe quite how little hair is regrowing, and this is only after 4 shaves / 4 treatments / under 2 months4) The tops of my legs and groin area have almost zero regrowth5) Clearly some maintenance will always be required - it cannot really be used specifically on the scrotum so I continue to shave that area every couple of daysAll in all I can thoroughly recommend the Philips IPL Prestige model for use by men for chest and pubic hair reduction.The results I have experienced are *excellent*, and I have no doubt now that in another 2 months I will reach almost hair removal of my chest, tummy and pubic hair.I really hope this helps some other men, as I found that “man reviews” of this product are almost impossible to find.FYI I paid around £350 for the model I have.
