Large print, not missing Zechariah 2 14-17
I am happy with this Bible. I initially thought I’m getting the St. Ignatius Study Bible and was surprised when I didn’t get that BUT that’s on me because I didn’t look at the photo nor read the description carefully. Also I saw a post saying that it has missing verses in Zechariah2 14-17 but I checked with my NAB bible and it was not missing but they have different numbering. I took a pic (1st photo is NAB 2nd &3rd photos RSV CE). So it’s all there.I would’ve preferred the version I saw in other reviewers that they got a gold edged one but I still got what I wanted which is a large print Bible and am happy with it.

Large Print, Easy Read
The large print makes for easy reading, although I would prefer white paper to the cream color (more contrast for old eyes). The RSV 2CE is a good, literal translation, no archaic English, easy to read. I would prefer to maintain the various names of God in the old testament instead of the use of "Lord", it seems more personal to me, like addressing a friend by name, not title or job description. This is my daily reading bible. If I have a question about the meaning, I can reference one of my various study bibles or my Greek/English Septuagint or New Testament. Other wise the study bibles are a distraction and I end up arguing with the notes if I think they left something out, concentrate on another aspect of the text, or worse. The size is not a factor; since I'm retired, I don't need a small, portable bible to carry around. If you need a Catholic study bible (and if you are a serious student of the bible, you do) consider: the Great Adventure Bible, Didache Study Bible, Ignatius Study Bible, or Jerusalem Study Bible (my favorite but out of print, buy used) depending on your needs and temperament. Consider more than one study bible for additional perspectives. This is my personal bible for old age, prayer, and reflection. Through the scripture I hear the voice of my Heavenly Father.

A beautiful Bible!
I’ve been a devoted daily reader of the Bible for many decades. One of my favorite translations has always been the Revised Standard Version. A few years ago, because I always wanted to carry a Bible with me when away from home, I decided to give an ebook edition of the Bible a try. It didn’t take long for me to find one that suited my needs perfectly: The Ignatius Bible, Kindle Edition.Last week I decided it was finally time to purchase a print edition of the Ignatius Bible. After much prayer and research, I chose the large print hardcover edition of this wonderful Bible. It turned out to be an excellent choice. This edition of the Ignatius Bible has everything I want. It is the Revised Standard Version – Second Catholic Edition (RSV-CE2) that includes the Deuterocanonical books of the Old Testament (those books are recognized as canonical by the Catholic Church.) The language is glorious to read. The RSV-CE2 is rendered in modern English throughout. (The residual archaic English found in the original RSV has been modernized.) The language is easy to understand, but it retains much of the majestic “flavor” and “feel” of the ancient King James Version upon which it is based. The 14-point font in this black-letter Bible is large, dark, and very easy to read. The paper is excellent. It is cream-colored and about the same texture and thickness of most other hardcover books. I’d estimate the paper is about 40-45gsm. There is almost no evidence anywhere of “ghosting” or “show-through.”This is a very well-constructed Bible. The gold-embossed, dark blue vinyl-over-board cover is very attractive. The binding is Smyth-sewn; there are no ribbon markers. The Bible measures approximately 11” x 7.5” x 3” and weighs about 4.5 pounds, so it is more of a desktop Bible than it is one designed for portability.I am very pleased with like my new Ignatius Bible Large Print RSV-CE2 hardcover edition. Since I acquired it, I’ve been doing most of my daily Bible reading from it. It is a genuine pleasure to read. Most highly recommended.

The perfect Bible for easy reading!
This Bible is perfect for anyone who prefers a more traditional and accurate translation. The language of the second RSV keeps the spirit of the original, though it replaces "you" for the vocative "thou/thee". The quality of the paper is also excellent, not excessively thin as are many edition of Sacred Scripture. Finally (and importantly for me), the size of the type is large, allowing easy reading for old eyes. Some Bibles advertise "large print" that is not really large; This Ignatius Study Bible really does have large print. It is absolutely worth the price!

Excellent large print bible but like new came with some damage
Bought a like new version but it came with a good sized bent on the bottom corner and a smaller amount of damage to top as well. Only a handful of the beginning pages were bent and they were straightened out before being shipped to me. I laminated it with some duck brand laminate liner and it stiffened up the bent corner and made the damage less noticeable. Overall, the bible is quite large and the print size is excellent. Paper is not tissue paper thin and is a nice cream color that is easy on the eyes. The print is pretty good except for some small breaks in an occasional letter every now and then. Overall the strengths of the bible (text size, paper quality and cream color) outweigh the heft and poor packaging of the bible.
