So comfy, even when not broken in
I bought these for vacation. Did not break them in beforehand because I didn't just time. No worries, though, these were totally fine even without breaking them in. In fact, these were better than the ones that were broken in.Are they ugly? They ar Keens, so of course they are. Are they comfy? Yes, even without breaking them in (legit, though, you should break them in). I would have no problem buying another pair of ugly shoes that worked this well with or without breaking them in. Saved my knees. Traction was great. I was not going to go anywhere. I did go a half a size up and got wide width and I question if that was even necessary, since they seem big on me, but not outrageous.

Very comfortable
I tried quite a few pairs of hiking boots/shoes before I decided on these. I was looking for waterproof and these so far are my choice. I haven’t tested the waterproof part yet, but for comfort these are great. Right out of the box no pain or rubbing. I haven’t tested been walking 3+ mikes a day around my neighborhood and they feel great. My toes have plenty of room.I won’t know until Alaska or Yosemite how they do in rain or puddles

Absolutely waterproof!
I wore these during rainy days in Alaska last month. At the end of the day- -I was soaked through, but my feet were dry!

Overall, great buy!
Loose on the ankles, so you have to tighten shoe a lot! But LOVE the waterproofing! Was able to hike through snow, gravel and rocks/ hiking paths for hours. Comfy and great for Washington weather.

Great
Use these at work. I stand, sit, kneel, up and down a lot on tile floor. Good tread and traction. Very comfortable. Good about of room for those and width. Highly recommend. Oh, also kept my feet warm at an early baseball game that was cold and rainy.

Nice hiking shoe!
Great shoe, fits well to size and super comfortable- not nearly as stiff as other Keens

Painful shoes, horrible size variations
Disappointed in Keen with these. I’ve owned five pairs of keens of all different styles over the past 12 years since I became an avid mountaineer but they completely missed the mark with these shoes. Every single pair of keens I’ve ordered before have fit me perfectly and were so comfortable they felt like they’d already been broken in, and they were all size 7.5. I ordered this size again and they were so tight, even without the shoes being laced, that it felt like my feet were going to go numb. So I returned those and ordered up a size to a size 8. Those were WAY too huge, to the point that my heels were slipping out of them with every step. I tried wearing different styles of socks with different thicknesses and lacing the shoes up different ways… Every combination you could think of to try to make these shoes work for me, but they’re horrible. I can’t even walk around the house with them while trying to get a feel for them without being annoyed, much less I would never chance wearing these in the wilderness. Aside from the massive fail with the size variations, there is also a painful hotspot on these boots, where the tongue meets the top of the opening (pointed to in photo). Again, I tried wearing different styles of socks and lacing them up different ways to relieve the painful pressure point this part was causing on my feet, but nothing helped. That hard part just DIGS into my feet. This is the nail in the coffin for me to switch brands and be done with Keen. Returning these as well.

Not like they used to be!
I don’t know if I reviewed these shoes when I bought them before or not but here goes. I have worn Keen shoes for over a decade now. When I first started buying Keen shoes they were still made here in the states and they ran true to whatever size a person wears. I have multiple pairs of the Targhee and voyager style that I have worn out. I even had a steel toe pair I wore to work and a pair of snow boots that I still wear on the rare occasion we get snow here in southern Indiana.I bought this pair of Targhee in 2023 and today January 3, 2025 I can finally wear them though they are still short in the toe and my big toe is hitting the end of the shoe and I got my usual size US women’s 9.5. The only reason I can wear them now is because I lost a lot of weight this past year and even my feet lost weight and I’m wearing shoes now I haven’t been able to wear in years.Apparently when I bought them, I couldn’t wear them and I have no idea why I didn’t return them, but today I ran across the box and looked in it and tried them on and I’m wearing them. The toe box is nothing like it used to be! I have wide feet and, if I hadn’t lost weight, I wouldn’t be able to wear them. The shoe is short and narrow. Nothing like when the toe boxes were nice and roomy and the shoes actually ran true to size. Can’t return them now because I’ve had them for over a year!
