Excellent ultrawide for gaming, productivity, and general use. Thunderbolt is great for Mac
This is the same panel as the 38WN95C. Yes, you can easily turn off power-saving mode.Mac connectivity is nice with the pass-through charging. Refresh rate is capped at 75 hz via Thunderbolt. You CANNOT use Thunderbolt and DisplayPort simultaneously in picture-by-picture mode; limitation with the controller, I suppose?Immersion is incredible for gaming. My GPU struggles to drive the 3840 x 1600 resolution at a high framerate, but the picture is gorgeous. For general use (I have it set at 120hz for the 10-bit color) the refresh rate seems just as smooth as my old 144hz monitor.Built-in speakers can get VERY loud. I was shocked. They are impressive sound quality-wise for a display's speakers, but don't expect audiophile quality. There is no bass to be found.Couple of downsides are that while the monitor can get VERY bright, the blacks don't get that black. The variable backlight is one of my favorite aspects about it, but the brightness fluctuates when the sky is overcast. Should note - the monitor is far away from a window so maybe it is my fault. Auto-brightness is great at adjusting to indoor lights, anyway.Lastly, I have 3 stuck pixels. I need to get out of my seat, move my face a foot away, and pan my head to specifically look for them. Pixel un-sticker just made one of them smaller. After a week of use, I never even notice let alone think about this (and I can be neurotic about these things). It is literally impossible to see them from my normal sitting position, or if I lean to the side, even.4.5 stars. The aforementioned flaws are minor to me, and other displays in this segment have their share of issues, some being way worse. I have been looking for the right ultrawide for almost 2 years now. Now, if only I could manage to get a 3080.

Impressive monitor with multiple inputs
I switched to this model from a dual 27" ultrasharp display setup and was worried that the downsize in screen real estate would be significant but I was pleasantly surprised in that it is exactly the size I needed.I love the multiple input capabilities along with the PBP functionality. Text clarity, brightness, and image customization settings are great. The build quality is solid even though most of the casing is plastic. Aesthetically, it's a gorgeous display.I use this monitor primarily for work - and it meets all of my needs in working with large spreadsheets and multiple open programs - but I also use it for light gaming (Civ VI, xBox) and the image quality/response time is way better than my previous 60hz monitor(s). I didn't notice any image blurring or screen tearing when playing Forza Horizon 5 or MS FlightSim on xBox.I have only two minor complaints that don't impact my use or overall impression since I absolutely love this monitor but they are:1) the function joystick at the bottom of the monitor is annoying. I would like to see a remote control option available in future models.2) the provided stand is a major desk hog, which I did ultimately purchase a separate monitor arm with a much smaller profile to use with this monitor; problem solved.Overall, I am greatly satisfied with this particular LG model and would highly recommend it.

LG, Goated
Bought this in 2021 as my main WFH, gaming, discord, hub, and it's been my main screen since. LG has been so good I've switched all of 5 of my televisions over time.

2nd 38" monitor is junk now. Oct to Dec and its now ghosting and vertical bars showing
Update monitor number 2 is shoing signs of the same issue the first one did. Vertical bars, bad ghosting of the main screen burned into it if I switch desktops on my mac mini. This display was ran at 64 brighness instead of 100 like the previous, I was hoping this would limit damage. I was also hoping the first display was a fluke. These are just bad panels. My first LG 34" wide screen has been working in our office since 2016... No issues. Daily use 8-10 hours a day 5 days a week. Has been through 3 moves and never an issue. These new 38" wide screens are garbage. Our 40" version that sits atop this one has been going the same amount of time no issues. I just can not use it as a main display as its to dim. but over head of this one the dimness helps reduce eye strain as its only a secondary monitor for clickup and calendars.Looks like this one gets to go back as well. Now to find a better panel or revert back to 34" screens. We are an all LG office. We run macs and LG panels on every desk. So we have invested heavily in LG wide screen curved all of them are on multiple years non stop use. So I wanted to upgrade my 2016 to a larger 38" The brightness was long overdue! these things are super bright i missed that. but 2 weeks in and i started getting vertical stripes, very visible ghosting of screens that were not even on all the time. Running a motion screensaver helped and they disappeared randomly for a few days but came back. Super annoying for as much as we spend on LG products to get a few bad ones.

Sharp Picture, works well with Windows and Mac
This is a great large screen monitor that I use with my work Windows laptop and my home MacBook pro. I also occasionally use it to watch streamed movies or shows. The picture quality is great, and I love the flexibility it offers. I have not implemented the multi virtual screen features yet but haven't seen the need. I just use it as an extended screen and drag the windows to it that I am working on. I've been living with this for a month and use it daily. No issues of any kind.
