So far / So good
I am a USA customer. My old Caller-Id modem crapped out on me after 6 years so I was forced to go find another. Not an easy thing to do these days. All the modems out there are cheap and CLAIM to be CID compatible - but not all of them are. Plus finding driver support is virtually impossible.I can confirm that this modem was plug-n-play with my Windows 11 PC. Didn't have to download or install ANY drivers. Just plugged it into a USB port and it worked. Test one, passed.Test two is Caller ID: I can also confirm that the caller ID function of this modem works. I don't know about other countries, but here in the USA it displays name and number just like my old modem did. So test two passed.Final test is longevity of device. I can't speak yet as to this as I just installed it today. Much as I hate the fact that my old modem died - I did get 6 years out of it. A little low for my preference but not unreasonable, I guess. If this new one craps out on me in the next few months I will certainly be back to update this review. However, after a few weeks if I'm still happy with it I'm buying another to have as a spare. Save me the headache of evaluating whatever the flavor of the month modems are out there years from now when this one dies.So....no news here is good news. So far....I give it a "Buy" rating!

Easy to use...
I use this particular modem with my RoboCallWall unit that helps filter SPAM and other unwanted Phone calls (as I'm an Author (Terror Strikes: Coming Soon to a City Near You) and there are some folks that do not appreciate the controversial, in some places, content, and I get harassing calls (Trolls just cannot help themselves but want to spread their vile/hate) to have to block on a landline (Cell has easy-to-use App for that)) and the old one was acting up and needed replacement. But, again, bottom-line, maybe/could've used a "cheaper" brand, but this one has worked so well (yes, despite my having said the original one that came w/ my RoboCallWall unit failed, it happens, equipment can/does sometime fail and need replacement) that I wanted to have an exact match replacement to know for certain it would work.Joseph M Lenard (aka: JLenardDetroit)

Works fine
Works fine a bit pricey but wish there were better instructions for the modem. Since installation of this type of product was new for me, as I didn’t know where the phone line cables went. Otherwise it’s been doing it’s job

Buggy and not reliable
No instructions were included with the item. But, I got it "working". Having struggled with it for a few years, I have found it to be buggy and not reliable.

A plug-n-play fax machine on Windows 10
Even though this comes with an installation software mini-CD, if you're using Windows 10, it's really just plug-n-play and works seamlessly with the built-in Windows Fax and Scanner application. It worked perfectly first time for me. For those of us who still need to send/receive old-fashioned faxes and either don't want to use an on-line service for this for security reasons (keep in mind that with on-line services your documents have to be uploaded to the service's system and that adds the chance for data theft) and/or don't want to pay monthly or annual fees, this device's one-time purchase price and ease of installation/use solve both problems. You DO need an old-fashioned landline, though. Fax machines don't work over cellular systems or voice-over-IP (an effect of how those work which the fax protocol could not have predicted when it was developed).

So easy, and a space saving little device!
Once in a great while I need to send a fax out. Bought this 2 months ago. WOrks great! not sure if there is an easier way but I used the fax wizard on my old computer running windows 10 ( I discovered my cd drive was broken so i could not use the cd provided, not a problem) The modem is connected to PC usb port, the other end to my telephone landline with the phone cord they provided. I then scanned the needed document(s) and saved on desktop. I opened the fax wizard, created the coversheet and attached the previously scanned documents. Hit the send button and other end received the necessary docs and my business was completed! Saved me a trip to the fax store and I do not have to buy/store a fax machine for the rare times i need to fax.

Total piece of junk
Bought for a new PC. Tried to install. Appeared dead on arrival. Did not come with any instructions. The diskette in the box had 7 folders of what may have been drivers and no indication of how to access. Tried an old US Robotics modem which immediately installed and worked with fax and contact manager software. Would have left one star; readers generally pay more attention to 3 stars.

Windows 10? Everything You Need Is Already There!
Some of the reviews of this were pretty scary, but it turns out to be very easy to use on Windows 10. Don't attempt to download anything, don't touch that driver disk, and don't expect the usual USB plug-and-play to do anything. It's a passive device, waiting for things that know how to find it.All you have to do is stick a phone line into the "Line" port and plug the unit into a working USB port. Then, go to Fax and Scan in Windows. Select "New Fax" and it will find the fax modem. Everything you need is built in to Windows.
