AKGPro Audio CM311 XLR Reference Head-Worn Condenser Microphone with XLR Connector, Black

The difference this mic has made for me is incredible! I've been a bassist/vocalist in a wedding band for over 10 years now, and I've always used a Sennheiser headset mic. The Sennheiser finally crapped out, so I thought I'd upgrade. Holy crap! I should have done it 9 1/2 hears ago!!The only (minimal) down side is that I have to put a slight gate on my vocals in my in-ears, because it picks up my breathing, but the FOH sound guy says it's not even noticeable in the mains.

This microphone is excellent, great sound and incredible sturdiness for active performers.

Sounds amazing. No bleed from my drums whatsoever. Sounds as good as my sm58. With a little bending fits good. I'm a very active drummer, no issues with it falling off my head. It helps to follow recommendations and have the mic actually touching your lips to help stabilize it. Very impressed after being a skeptic of a headset mic. LOVE IT!!

As a drummer, I've been using headset mics for 30 years. I joined a new band and the leader insisted I use a mic on a stand for sound quality! After months of fighting that and missing the freedom of a headset I rebelled and spent the $ for this Crown! He was forced to admit it sounded as good as the beta!

Really powerful and overdrives the amp at time. Uncomfortable around the ear.

Been playing keys and singing vocals in dance cover band for last 3 years. Was using a Line 6 which was ok, but often distorted and had a flat sound to it. The AKG is that exact opposite. Clear full sound, no distortion. Only minor complaint is that the mic tends to drop down whenever I'm jumping around, so u really have to crank on the tension knob to keep it in place.

I really wanted to love this mic, I really did. And in fact, I can't argue with the microphone element itself -- it really has the most amazing off-axis rejection you will see on any headworn mic, bar none. I can literally stand three feet from our drummer facing him and the loudest drum sounds registers maybe -24 dB when my vocal is at -3 dB. Amazing frequency response and color, too.Unfortunately, there is more to the mic than the element -- there is also the contraption that holds it on your head, and that's where Crown has supplied cheap junk. This is like taking a Lamborghini and outfitting it with the cheapest re-tread tires you can find -- almost a sin. My problem? The mic stayed in its box for about six weeks from the time I received it because we didn't have any rehearsals or gigs scheduled during Oct/Nov. The FIRST time I used it at a rehearsal, the cheap plastic "clutch" you tighten to hold the boom in place disintegrated into a tiny mound of plastic shards, leaving no way to tighten or position the boom.Still waiting to hear from Crown on how they will "repair" it. If I could send it back to Amazon, I would -- but naturally did not keep the outer packaging sleeve that was on the plastic carrying case. :(

Very happy withe the mic. Very good to eliminate feedback and sound quality is amazing. Amazing tone paired with a Shure Qlxd
