I tutor kids in 2nd grade in reading. Most of my kids are bilingual, so switching to English and our way of spelling/pronouncing words is difficult. When I showed them ight, they had to say it and spell it. Then I added beginning letters and they were amazed as they read light, bright, sight, night etc. What a confidence booster!

The media could not be loaded. My daughter is a bit behind on phonics. I decided to go back to the basics. This set has been great. Easy for her to practice and drill word families. My daughter is 8 which is on the older side, but I think these would be great for beginner readers as well. The cards are thicker then a lot of our other phonics sets I own, which I appreciate. I am glad I bought this word families set.

Excellent cards and easy to use!! They are color coded by pronunciation: short vowels,Long vowels, and other vowels. The front has the phonic vowel and sound with one example and the back of the card has four examples. The color coded phonic sounds helps blends words. Excellent cards. Highly recommend

I have my k-8 teaching license and was helping a little guy with his reading and decoding skills. These really helped a lot and I would recommend them.

Son lives using these. It has helped him tremendously with building his vocabulary and phonics.

This has worked wonders with my 5 year old. It has helped him learn key letter combinations.

This along with the learning resources pocket chart, dry erase boards and phonics dominoes have been a great combination of centers that have helped my kids grow as readers. We use cooperative learning where kids use white boards and reciprocal teach the words they know. Love these! Parents wish they had sets at home! Wish I had a grant to buy these for my 10 students to keep at home to practice nightly. A must have for any k, 1st or 2nd grade classroom! Hope this helps!
