Excellent
I gave this as a gift, and our little girl loves it. It is exactly as described and was the perfect gift.

And there was light
My son is a space nut so this is perfect. As much as he love the planetarium portion he also loves the slides that come with it. We've sat through several planetarium shows that he has put on for us showing us all the different types of galaxy formations. I would say that if you're planning on using this as a night light then be ready to charge batteries at least 1-2 times a week. My son uses this every night and we turn it off when we check on him before we go to bed (around 12-1 am) so it does last for a while.Note: I can't praise Eneloop rechargebale batteries enough. I've been using them for years and can't believe the power consistency. I believe they are rated for like 10,000 recharges and with how much we use them over the past 10 years I have never thrown one out yet. I know they are pricey but after using several different inferior varieties I just can't love them more.

Buyer beware
For a few days this seemed like a great product, but quickly went downhill. Either the bulb was faulty or this thing eats up batteries in a matter of hours because every couple of nights after 2-4 hours of use it died. It is not worth it and I would suggest shopping around.

Love the lights
I have two son's who share a room, and they really enjoy the light show. We bought this primarily because we wanted a night light to put in their room and in the product description it said that it could be used for that purpose. The only issue that we have with the product is that it only runs on batteries. We bought some recyclables and are running it that way, but since it was advertised as a potential night light, I kind of expected either a timer to turn it off to conserve batteries, or a 12V adapter to plug into the wall.

So Cool!
I got this as a birthday present for my nine year old nephew. It was a huge hit! He loved it. And the adults do too.

Great gift
My 9-year-old Grandson is into astronomy now, and he loves this STEM toy, he watches the solar system revolve around the room and loves that he can name most of it. It is too bad there are no more slide disks available to buy for it, they would be able to become more advanced as he does.

If you're looking for planetarium grade projection, this is not the one for you.
The product came sooner which was great, and the person that i gifted it to likes it, but i thought the projection was going to look a little more realistic. The light is blue and it has a blue filter. It looks more like when you overexpose a night sky where you begin to see the stars get streaky. The slides that it comes with are nice, but don't project as large as i expected. It's durable, but really not worth the price. I think next time, I'll go with a larger projector that costs more. Great for kids, but not for an older couple. Overall, not a TERRIBLE product.

Not what you're hoping for
Like myself, I'm sure you are looking to purchase a little slice of awesome for your loved one. I advise you to keep looking. Unfortunately this product probably won't deliver the exploratory wonder you're seeking to instill in a young mind because, to an adult, these projected "stars" appear as smudges moving across the room. To a kid, who knows. But when I was growing up, I'm pretty sure I wasn't looking forward to having mom tuck me in to bed, turning out the lights, and watching thousands of blobs rotate around my ceiling. I paid 60 dollars for this product. Knowing what I know now, I'd pay half that. Do your kid a favor and get him or her a light saber.
