Calligraphy Bible: A Complete Guide to More Than 100 Essential Projects and Techniques

This book is ok; decent instruction and some good inspiration. I agree with the previous reviewer about the inexplicably poor quality of some of the illustrations. If you're looking for a place to start, I would strongly recommend Mastering Calligraphy: The Complete Guide to Hand Lettering by Gaye Godfrey-Nicholls instead.

While the book contains useful information and projects, the image quality is really poor. It seems they have used a lot of low-resolution images and poor photography, so the illustrations are badly pixelated and washed out, and are thus uninspiring. Even the cover image lacks sharpness. Calligraphy relies on quality of line, and I can't bear to look at these examples.
