Great value for the price. Our dogs love it and it is then easier to brush their teeth more frequently.

My dog likes the flavor and it does a good job cleaning his teeth.

Shelties are very prone to dental problems. LuLu's teeth are brushed each night with Poultry flavor Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste for Dogs. She says it tastes good. We have had her over a year, and she has not had to have her teeth cleaned by her vet, which would require her to be under full anesthesia. She is our fifth sheltie, and all of them have liked this toothpaste. Our first sheltie, Baby, preferred Beef flavor, but I don't think that flavor is available any more. Our second sheltie, Taffy, had been a rescue from a Missouri puppy mill, where she spent the first seven years of her life having one litter of puppies after another and apparently living in a cage outside with no heat or air conditioning. After she was rescued, the rescue organization had a vet clean her teeth, and she had to have five teeth pulled. After daily brushing her teeth, they stayed in good condition and no longer needed to be periodically cleaned by the vet nor did she need additional teeth pulled. My 3 Dogs love getting their teeth brushed using the Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste. They also have a chew brush I sometimes add it to for a treat. I do not give my dogs people products as they are not made for animals and could harm my dogs.

My wolfhounds hate the taste of mint and because I'm a breeder I use larger amounts as I brush teeth every two days. They hate the taste of 'mint' which is used in many toothpaste for dogs (lol), and which is actually not needed because when dogs teeth are brushed regularly they don't have 'bad' breath. Also the 'newer' peanut butter flavoured toothpastes out there they don't really like much either. I also don't allow my dogs to drink right away after brushing their teeth. They wait a minimum of 10 minutes and this also helps.

I’ve tried several brands on my dogs over the years and this one is the best. It’s too expensive but it works.
