Product Description This fitness video is the 1st installment in the "Easy Does It" senior fitness video series. This fitness video is designed to instruct older adults through a beginning level fitness program that addresses the fitness needs of older adults such as balance, flexibility, strength, posture and cardiovascular health. Review "Most fitness videos target either the avid exerciser or someone wanting to try something new. Few, if any, actually target older adults. But here's one that does, and it does it successfully. St. Louis trainer Craig Marcacci developed the workout in "Easy Does It!" with the help of geriatrics experts. It's designed for those 75 and up; Marcacci says his students include people as old as 98. The workout is a no-impact strength and flexibility training workout. There is no aerobic component here; instead, Marcacci makes it his goal to help seniors regain strength and maintain a full range of motion. "Any impact is too much impact," says Marcacci, who leads a group of 20 or so students through the workout in the video. The idea is to eliminate the risk of injury by avoiding impact or quick movements, which may cause older adults to miss a step or strain muscles. The video begins with a four-minute stretch. Marcacci follows that with about five minutes of standing exercises such as hamstring curls and calf raises. For the next portion you sit in a chair (his students use basic folding chairs) and use dumbbells (1, 2 or 3 pounds) to work the upper body. After about 12 minutes in the chair, you are back up for some more standing exercises. Marcacci finishes the workout, which lasts slightly more than 30 minutes, with more stretching. Marcacci is a good instructor. He's obviously very knowledgeable, and he seems to care for his students. He's not condescending and yet he doesn't talk to his quiet group as if they are a bunch of jocks." --Amy Bertrand, St. Louis Post-Dispatch Health & Fitness Editor"...the program fits a need of a large number of seniors that were previously ignored, as well as family caregivers: Almost daily, I receive inquiries from caregivers wondering what type of fitness program is available for their family members, he says. The caregiver worries that all programs are designed for seniors who are capable of engaging in exercise programs and activity beyond the abilities of their family members. This program solves that dilemma. Now, a new segment of America s seniors can engage in activities that will bring about better health and a happier older age." --Daniel Hines, Publisher, TodaysSeniorsNetwork.com

It was shown at the senior complex where she lives and she enjoyed the work out
I bought this for my 90 year old mother. It was shown at the senior complex where she lives and she enjoyed the work out. She wanted her own copy to use at her leisure in her apartment. I have not seen the video but my mother felt it was a work out she could handle and it was motivating for her.

excellent exercises for seniors.
these exercises are not too hard to do but are challenging enough for seniors just starting out or with limited mobility.

Good exercise program
This video is great for older people (my husband is 77) and I do it too (I'm 61). It's just challenging enough to give a good workout without exhausting you. Craig is sweet and good with the elders. A really good program very similar to the one my husband participated in at our local fitness center. Only now we don't have a monthly fee to pay or a one-hour-round-trip drive two or three times a week. We recommend it. Our physician was very interested in the video for some of her other patients.

Mom loved it!
I bought three different exercise DVDs for my 75 year old mother to try and this was by far her favorite. Her only complaint was there weren't enough exercises. She memorized the routine in no time and still enjoys it daily. The only equipment needed is a sturdy chair. This is a wonderful choice for seniors who never were really into exercising, or who have lost any of their flexibility and strength. The outfits were really dated and the sound quality isn't the greatest, but Mom didn't seem to mind.

Easy Does it! for a special client.
This is the first fitness DVD I've found that was actually too easy for me. Craig, the instructor has a gentle and kind manner. I would recommendthis program to someone in her 80's and out of shapes. I do match the out of shape part at 72 but need a bit more challenge.

Good Fitness program for seniors
I work with a non profit senior group on a dialy bases and they love this DVD it gives them a good work out for the ones that can stand and do it. I only gave it 4 stars though for the sound quality issues and the small errors threw out the video like where he is doing 10 reps and counts to 11 o well no biggie. Me being 26 i did find the first part of the video with the introduction kind of on the comical side. and it looks like the DVD was press on a DVD-R and not a true DVD replicator like the Hollywood Videos o well no biggie there over all a well done video :)
