Mind-blowing mystery unfolding!!
Mind blowing!!! When I first saw the table of chapters in this book, I was surprised. I was thinking why should this book have many parts. But by the time the second part began to build up, I was dumbfounded. Freida really is the queen of mysteries.

Immersive, clever plot and fast-paced. Totally kept me hooked on.
This book is full of unexpected twists and kept me guessing till the very end, that it's really difficult to write the review as anything more given out would serve as a spoiler. So here I am writing it in a way that doesn't reveal the plot entirely. Also do not go by the synopsis written behind this book, because it's just more than that or I would say the book surprises the readers racing till the last page. The Housemaid secret appears more than just a mystery thriller. I was literally blown by the unbelievable twist and constantly changing the list of suspect in my hand as to who killed Douglas Garricks. So Wendy aka Mrs Garrick literally laid a trap for her Housemaid, Wilhelmina Calloway referred as Millie, to get out with the murder of her husband by making Millie take the fall for it, but little did she know who Millie was and what she was capable of.The book is structured with four parts having the point of view of Mille and Wendy. Initially I didn't really find Millie's POV interesting because Wendy’s POV, literally took us reader's by surprise. She literally planned her husband Garricks murder all the while pretending to be the victim. But previously , I thought Wendy was a positive character and she genuinely needed Millie's help (also taking advantage of the fact that Millie was a social worker alongside being a housemaid) from her abusive husband which was clearly a lie as she forged her bruises only to seek Millie’s help to murder her husband to take over his wealth. Yes Wendy was all after Douglas Garricks wealth as he was filthy rich. The Actual twists happen when Wendy accuses Millie for her husband's murder by holding her the main culprit. There's a whole lot of twists and turns which I feel if I reveal would be spoilers. But the major twist was Wendy's death and I was literally blown & astounded by the culprit.Characters I loved in this bookTo begin with Millie, a sensitive women for the innocent but at the same time could turn into mastermind serial killer if you act nasty like Wendy did.Enzo: The guy was all heart ❤ ️ and was truly supportive towards Millie because he loved her and stood through her till the end and was also her ex.Brock: Millie's boyfriend & also a hot-shot lawyer and wealthy. He was a positive character but couldn't really stand Millie's lies; she concealed her past eventually leading to their break-up.Marybeth: the lovely lady ruined by Wendy as Wendy had an illegitimate affair with her husband. But she eventually gets her revenge when Wendy is Murdered.Wendy: No words for this woman. She could have played smart in so many ways but she literally botched every opportunity laid in front of her. Her character couldn't have been more cruel. Literally felt sympathetic for her until she showed her true colors.I also loved the tone and language of this book as it was easy to understand and it's Full of crazy phrases that the author has used, none of which I found were unnecessary. Instead, I learned a lot during the reading process. So I would like all the mystery and thriller fans to go give this book a read. Freida McFaddenhas written incredibly, from sketching the characters to the plots and background & the language of the book, and appropriate phrases tailored for each scene/plot, everything is well-structured. I am glad that this is my first ever book from this author and it really stupefied me.

After reading the housemaid this story feels a little less gripping.
The plot twists are always incredible, the author made sure of that. Inspite of being a page turner, in the first half the story did feel a little slow but next parts are really good.

domestic thrillers mixed interesting characters together with the plot twist
Rating: 4.3Millie Calloway is working as cleaner for several hours per week and studies at a college, she wants to become a social worker. After being fired from her last job, she jumps at the opportunity of employment when the rich Douglas Garrick hires her for his penthouse apartment. Her duties? Light housework and cooking, with one rule: does not want his wife, Wendy, who is said to be suffering from a chronic disease, to disturb herself. What has aroused Millie’s curiosity is when she hears the sounds of a weeping woman coming from the guest bedroom and bloodstains which she sees on Wendy’s nightgown later on. Because of her passion to assist, Millie proceeds in unearthing more of secrets of the Garrick household. What she stumbles upon is deceit and an array of risks that unfailingly affect her to the core as she proceeds for a truth seeking mission that avails her the power to denounce the scandals within the Garrick home. Why 4.3?Personally, I had somewhat less of a fun reading this than I did while reading The Housemaid. Perhaps because I was unsure what to expect of gaslighting and abuse (I’d avoid it if you have experienced any, especially gaslighting), this book felt like a flipped version of the previous book. After the movie’s initial scenes, I felt I heard it all before, which some scenes seemed unrealistic to me. Although the plot requires some disbelief at times it is rich in detail and filled with suspense and action. Why read?If you enjoy domestic thrillers mixed interesting characters together with the plot twist that will make you say wow, then this is a book for you. Although The Housemaid’s Secret concerns the tragedy that occurs on the fateful day, it is a psychological suspense novel, and I believe that everyone will like it; especially if they are eager to read about secrets, lies, and jokes that contain an alarming undertone.

Must read
It is an amazing suspense thriller. I started reading it and it was so grasping that finished it in 2 days. Excellent plot. This was my second book from this author and i am interested in reading more of their work. The book was received in excellent condition and font is perfect. One must read the first book of the series to understand the story of this book.

Goooood
I liked this one too. It wasn't as thrilling as the first book but the twist in the middle and that shock in the climax was worth it.Again I love that the books are fast paced and the chapters are short and it makes me want to keep the reading constant.
