Extra long at 1.2m makes this ideal for my clean cabling to laptop dock
This Ablink TBT4 cable is absolutely spot-on as a laptop-dock cable because it's unusually long at 1.2m which gives plenty of room for clean cable routing without having to sacrifice on throughput capability. It's works fantastically delivering charging power, video output and network traffic via a single cable to my laptop. Bonus points for also supporting 100w PD charging, so it doubles up as a great connecting cable for my Steam Deck - which maxes at toward 40w combined but seems fussy about what combination of cables and charges it supports for full capacity and this one works well.

Great cable
As far as data transfer goes, this was quite impressive when moving files from my phone to a laptop/ external hard drive that has a USB-C connector and vice-versa.I did a comparison with one of my normal cables against this and the difference was noticeable.I moved about 15gb of videos and pictures - this USB4 cable managed to complete it nearly 3 times quicker than my normal cable.I also use this to charge my phone when I'm on the go. As it's a 0.8m cable, this is an ideal length to connect to a power bank and walk around. It charges my phone very quickly, but this is dependent on the output of the power bank too.Despite being a USB4 cable, I feel like £25 for this cable is a tad much, considering that it's only 0.8m in length. This limits usage due to its length but at the same time, more and more cables will slowly adopt the USB4 specification, making data transfer much quicker and justifying this price tag.Overall, a well-built cable that does a brilliant job. Very quick data transfer speeds can be achieved, making it very convenient to transfer data between devices.

Really well made USB4 cable with lots of compatibility
USB4 seems from what I read to be a good thing that will help connect up the disparate world of the different generations of USB 3 (Type C connections) along with Intel's Thunderbolt technology. All of these types of cables use the USB Type C connection but have different technologies operating behind them working at different maximum transfer speeds according to which version they are. This cable is well made and the connectors fit well, just right in fact, not loose, not too tight. I like the fact that the brand name ABLINK is very subtly put on the connector, you only see it when it catches the light. The cable is backwards compatible so will also work on all the USB 3.1/3.2 Type C options along with Thunderbolt 3 and 4.These modern cables offer far more than just charging when used with the right ports. It can also be used in Alt Mode to power two 4K external displays, or connect up to a laptop dock etc.Connect a USB4 / Thunderbolt 4 device with this cable to a USB4 port you will achieve maximum speeds up to 40Gbps. Otherwise you will receive up to the maximum speed of the oldest port/device in the process, from 5Gbps at USB 3.1 Gen 1 upwards. One other thing to note is 40Gbps is not 40GB/s, it is Gigabits rather than Gigabytes. There are 8 bits in a byte, so you need to divide the number by 8 to get Gigabytes per second - IE 5 Gigabits = 625 Megabytes per second, and 40Gbps = 5GB/s. These are maximum figures too, but you should get good transfer speeds. If you have USB4/Thunderbolt 4 ports then this cable is definitely recommend to get the maximum use out of them. If you want to future proof your cable it is also a good choice. But if you don't have the ports/devices for this very new technology then you will find cheaper cables for the older specs that will work perfectly fine for you.Thank you for taking the time to read my review, I hope you found it to be 'helpful'

Works great with my iPad, but the Mac to connect it too hasn't turned up yet.
I got this cable in anticipation to connect my iPad Pro to a new iMac, but the Mac is taking a little while to turn up... It does a great job at charging my iPad but the real reason I got it was to sidecar my iPad onto a iMac to use it as a second screen and styles pad with my Apple Pencil. Quite expensive at £30 for a cable but if it throughputs 8k video or 40 Gbps then it should be worth it. I will report back once the Mac turns up and I have some thunderbolt 1/0s to connect to.

Good quality USB4 / Thunderbolt cable
More and more devices now use the USB C connector, and not just for charging but 4K video, but ultra-fast data transfer, etc. This is a very good quality, mell-made cable (USB 4 / Thunderbolt 4), that’s ideal for phone charging, as well the other uses. I have an Optiplex 7070 that has 2 x Thunderbolt 3 ports, this being ideal for that. The description is a little confusing, it not being clearly stated as Thunderbolt 3 or 4, just that it is compatible (1&2 were ‘mini display-port shape). However, since this supports 8K, then I take this to be Thunderbolt 4. The differences though, between the two, aren’t going to make any difference for most uses anyway. As noted, this cable is very well-made, with decent (but not gold plated) connectors, and a very tough rubbery outer sheath, and good quality, flexing protective collars to help protect internal terminations. The cable works perfectly with my DELL 7070 (and 7050) PCs, and equally so with my PD charger connected to my Samsung S20+ phone, charging ‘super-fast’All in all, this is a top quality, latest standard, USB 4 / Thunderbolt 4 (C connections) cable. It is a bit pricey though, and length is only 1.2m in length, so double check this is going to be long enough for your needs. Obviously if only required for phone charging, basic USB C (both end) use etc; then you only need less expensive USB 3.2 type cables.I hope that you have found this review to be helpful.
