Wonderful Espresso Maker!
I did a lot of research, and I am very happy with this espresso maker! It is so easy to use, and it is stainless steel which is easy to clean and looks very shiny - I expect to enjoy this for years to come. The gasket is made of silicone, so it will be much more durable than rubber. The espresso is so delicious!

Inside of pot is NOT stainless steel!
The pot is easy to use and clean. The flavor is mediocre, but acceptable. However, in just under a year and despite hand cleaning it and never using it in the dishwasher or scrubbing the inside of the pot, it rusted into a red mess of iron, clearly dangerous to one's health. This is NOT stainless steel - the base pot's interior at least. NOT recommended.

Perfect espresso!
This beautiful pot makes perfect espresso very quickly and easily, working its magic with only water and quality ground coffee. We purchased it primarily for travel, but I find it is also great for quiet mornings at home when I am not ready to wake the entire house to make a cuppa. Cleanup is equally simple. Love it!

good
I'm ordering my 2nd once since I bought this about 2 years ago, and using it 3 times a day every day, honestly it makes 2 cups of coffee not 6, talking regular size US coffee mugs, it makes 2. I was surprised it's not 5 stars, after I came back to it by searching my order history. I looked at all the reviews with 3 or less stars. I can see, the one with the busted pressure release valve, that looks defective. Italians drink too much wine at lunch I can imagine it. As for the metal this is not surgical stainless or some other high grade stainless. The way it stains is enough for me to confirm as I thought, it certainly isn't aluminum. It's stainless steel and they chose a grade same as for tea kettles since people can handle tarnish from boiling off hundreds of gallons of water over months. As for the top part it's too thin-walled to be plated anything and hold up, I've left mine on the stove accidentally so it's bone dry and extremely hot by the time I get to it, then I run it directly under cold tap water to cool it off and all that water boils off of it instantly into steam, it's so hot. And, under those conditions, any kind of thin electroplating would be showing signs of stress, cracking and coming off in spots. I'd be pissed if the pressure release valve was busted but otherwise no complaints here.

Makes great coffee
This is starting to rust inside the base. It’s not seasoning. It’s flaking and eroding. I don’t wash it so I’m not sure why this is happening.Love the look! We use this on our camp stove and it makes excellent coffee.

Best quality and performance
To be brief: I have owned the aluminum espresso makers and this is by far a better quality product. It makes great espresso coffee. Highly recommended.

the top will only fill 2/3rds of its capacity due to design
It is beautiful and large enough to sit on a gas cooktop w/out falling over. However, the design is such that the top section will never be more than 2/3rds full as the center piece only comes up that far, and the amount of water which can be placed in the bottom section would not allow it to fill further. This is different from other espresso makers I have used, but otherwise it is fine. I'm not sure this is a 6 cup for that reason. I personally would prefer a smaller footprint for that amount of coffee.
