Most first year law students will be strongly urged by their professors to buy this textbook. I am telling you as a second year: do not bother.The content itself is written fairly basically, so while it is easy to understand- it's not that useful. Writing tips and such should come as common sense to anyone who was able to actually get into law school, and the sections on jurisprudence etc. are so thin on content that you would be better served by googling it.This book is by no means essential and, after skimming it maybe twice, I did not touch it again for the rest of my studies.

Superb publication. I was advised to get one of these before commencing the GDL and actually took it on holiday with me and managed to cope with the read, although admittedly I did have to read some chapters more than once. Very student friendly, thus highly recommended.
