NOT a standard 30A RV connector, misleading description
This is what seems to be a good quality male L5-30 connector that one could install on their RV if they so chose. The problem is that at least in North America there is a standard 30 A connection which most RVs seem to use and THIS IS NOT IT. This is for a different type of plug. It may be a better plug since it twists and lock, who knows, it just isn't what the rest of the RV community uses. It is rated for the same amperage, apparently some RVs do come with this connector from the factory (made outside the US perhaps?), and if you are willing to special order you can find cables that work with it (at around twice the price of the standard cables of course). If you lose or damage your cable and go into a small RV or truck stop looking for cables, tough luck because they're only going to have the standard one that everyone else uses. You can go into Lowes or HD and buy a female connector to mate with this, but of course they are also around $15-20 each and you have to buy the cable separately.I can confirm that a 2-7/8" hole when drilled in your trailer will allow this connector to fit relatively tightly (I tested in plywood first: 2-3/4 is a little too small, 3" would probably work but leaves a bit of a gap). People saying they can't find 2-7/8" hole saws just aren't looking at good enough tool stores. The quality does seem good for what it is. Now I just need to decide if I want to commit myself to more expensive oddball cables for the life of my RV or find a standard connector that fits into the 2-7/8" hole that I already drilled. And I learned to check availability and pricing of cables before I install connectors in the future!

Good quality and price.
