Love this brand!
PROS: All metal teeth to stop hair breakage (never buy one that's has any plastic teeth), low pain, less waste (not using razors or other hair removal products), cord (no need to wait for recharge), this brand is quality and lasts a long time. CONS: Cord (next time will purchase rechargeable for freedom of usage) and end of life wastage.

One year update - I still Love Love Love It!!!
Love, Love, Love this item! Firstly, some history... I had never epilated before. I have however waxed, lasered and used IPL hair removal devices on my legs, bikini (brazilian), underarms, face, and arms for a number of years which has resulted in finer, sparser hairs. Lasering particularly was painful - as in sweat inducing, shaking hands "get this over with!!" kind of painful... Consequently, using this epilator has not been a painful experience for me. Please remember to always exfoliate to reduce the chance of ingrown hairs and ensure your skin is dry (no lotions, etc). Contrary to some other advice for using this item, I dry exfoliate using a glove, epilate and then shower - not shower, exfoliate in shower then epilate. For the underarms I used a fine powder to help control any resulting wetness (sweat) that may have occurred. Note, I have had this device for just over three weeks and the first time I used it I did my feet (including toes - yes toes), full legs, full arms, underarms, upper lip and chin. This unit cannot be used in the shower, which is fine by me. I do not like to spend alot of time in the shower because I have sensitive skin. I saw comments that was the deice is loud, but I do not find that it is. Here's an overview of my experience so far:PROS1) 72 tweezers = fast!! I did my initial epilation (noted above) in about 20 minutes2) Mildly uncomfortable, least comfortable was the underarms which I would rate a 5 out of 10 on the disccomfort scale - overall though a 1 or a 2 (at least for me);3) can be used corded or cordless, corded is best as you get more power and the unit tweezer heads spin faster meaning faster and less painful epilating4) 2 speeds - I only use the fasted one, "get her done"5) easy to clean6) quality construction7) Once a week exercise for me now, which is more of a touch up then a full out epilation of everything, love how long my skin stays smooth and hair free!8) bye bye razor!! No more cuts or knicks! PS: I do have a Philips small personal razer for trimming of delicate areas, but that's it now :)Cons:1) Cannot be used in the shower (adding this as some might say it is a con, not me though)2) Itchiness after first time use - and wow, am I talking itchy! This is common though, or so I learned. Mine faded away by the 30 minute mark. What you are feeling is a reaction to all of those hairs being yanked out. If you do alot in your first pass, be prepared! A cold compress helps.3) DO NOT use this device (and some goes for lasering, waxing etc...) when you are on your cycle as you will be much more sensitive.Happy epilating! One year update (last post Feb. 2017): I am still loving this epilator! I have had ingrown hairs, but expected I would. I never use it without the chord, as it works faster and more efficiently when plugged in! Works as well as the first day I got it. My sister uses a Philips and wound up with an infection that is taking weeks to go away (soon will be a few months!). She said she wished she had gotten the Emjoi for the speed and especially for the silver ion technology as she is certain her epilator is the cause of the infection (eek!). I have recommended this item to everyone who has asked about it. It is not a “quiet” unit, but for the speed and effectiveness I could care less. No more or less noise then a hairdryer. Very satisfied :) Note for manufacturer: Adding a light would be appreciated, to help find “strays”!!

A Bargain without sacrifice of quality!
I purchased this in April 2014, so I've been using it for over a year. I bought it to replace my Braun SE 7181 WD Silk Epil 7 Epilator Xpressive Pro, Orange/Copper which cost only $79 and change at the time. It is now $115. I loved the Braun epilator, but it was no longer holding much of a charge. Unlike this unit the Braun cannot be used with the charger plugged in. I paid $95 for the Emjoi. It is only $59 now! Though I still like the Braun a little bit more than the Emjoi because it required less time to use as it is a more efficient epilator I recommend this one. It is worth a little extra time to spend slightly more than half the cost of the Braun. Also the fact that it can be used with the charger plugged in is a great advantage. I suspect that the Braun did not allow use while plugged in because it was a wet/dry product. In other words you could use it while bathing. I never found this to be advantageous. Quite the opposite. I find it is much more efficient to use while your skin is dry. Since it takes time to wait for a recharge if it dies half way through I prefer the Emjoi's ability to be used while plugged in. I do no find it painful to epilate with either product, but some people do. When I purchased the Braun I had read a number of reviews that had said it would be very painful. That's true of all the epilators I researched. Perhaps I just have a higher than normal threshold for pain. I've been told that by doctors after all, but I do not find epilating painful. Keep your skin taut while using any epilator, especially when doing your underarms, to avoid catching skin. Catching skin IS painful, for anyone. However, if you are careful this will not be a problem. At the current price this product is a fantastic bargain! I hate shaving. I've been waxed and tried waxing myself. Waxing is just too messy. Even having it done professionally leaves some wax on the skin where they miss during clean up. I've used the epilator everywhere. It is much more efficient. If you pay to be waxed, this will pay for itself in a use or two. You can still get your upper lip waxed as that is not very expensive and this epilator is not meant for facial use. I still use it for my upper lip, but I do not recommend it. It is quite easy to get your actual lip caught. I don't have much hair there. In fact I didn't have any visible hair on my upper lip until I was approaching 40. Now I have a little bit and have become adept enough with the Emjoi to catch it all without injuring myself, but it's not easy so consider yourself warned! For all places below the neck I highly recommend the Emjoi. It is more than worth the price and considerably cheaper than equivalent products. Buy one before the price goes back up, and still consider it even if it the price does increase. It is a worthy product after all.

Virtually pain free and very efficient
Didn't think it was possible but for some reason it is the least painful epilator I have ever used. I have been epilating for over 11 years now and this is my 4th one. I have developed a certain immunity to epilating pain.My old one broke when it fell down. There was a good 1 month gap before I got this one and epilated my underarms. Usually with this big a gap despite my pain immunity I still feel pain enough to promise myself I will not let there be a 1 month gap ever again(which I can't keep sometimes) but amazingly it was virtually pain free.I totally love this epilator.Another thing I LOVE LOVE is the fact that it can be used corded and cordless. I prefer corded use. There is no danger of battery running out of life and making the device useless as the battery is not replaceable. So in India with the irregularity in power supply, if you NEED to epilate and there is no electricity you can use it still!!It is so efficient. I have read it being compared to lawn mower in some other reviews and it lives upto that description well. The 4 stars instead of the 5 is just because with the epilating head being so broad, sometimes when there is just that 1 tiny hair that you want to get to, it takes quite a few passes to get it. But when it's finally gotten to it gets plucked out at once and painlessly.Cannot understand how plucking out hair can ever be painless but it is.Only downside is when the hair you want is 1 and is in the crook of some part of the body it takes a few passes due to the how broad the epilating head is.But I guess that's a trade off you get for the device being SO SO SO efficient at plucking off the hair with so many tweezers doing a great job.Would definitely recommend this to everyone. If you have very very fine hair and only mild hair growth over a long time you are blessed! ! But also I wouldn't say that the price of this is worth it. But if like me you NEED to epilate atleast once a week, it is very much worth the investment.Excellent epilator.
