Walker and Hawkes - Men's Wax Padded Blackstone Jacket

Smart looking jacket for fall/spring
This is a great coat for the money. Other brands, these go for twice the amount. Some things to know, order a size smaller than what you wear. I am 5'10" and 180 pounds and a medium fits perfectly with some room. The extra padding gives it some warmth. I would say this is a good late Fall/ early Spring jacket - good for weather between 60-40 degrees. The zipper zips on the wrong side, but is easy to get used to. The hood is a great extra feature, but a bit small. The wax coating at first is a bit slick, but just leave the jacket hanging up for a day, and it's fine. The material is sturdy and it looks great. I'm satisfied.

Amazing coat
The coat fit as expected. As other reviewers have stated it does zip on the left hand side but it’s very easy to adjust. Wind and waterproof, iv been wearing it all winter and it has been warm and even cleans easy with a damp cloth after carrying in firewood.

Not quite what I was expecting
This was not quite what I was expecting. I've had waxed jackets in my youth, from Barbour. They were well suited for early spring and late fall type of weather, a few degrees above freezing and wet. They were reasonably light with a waxed cotton shell. They moved easily and felt like you were wearing a typical cotton or jean jacket.I would call this "jacket" more of a "coat" suited for dead of winter conditions. It's somewhat heavy and the waxed shell is best described as a canvas. In that regard, it's great. I've worn it outside this winter at -7 degrees C with the wind blowing and no sweater and it was perfectly warm with absolutely no draft. It wears like a Canvas Parka and moves like a Parka. I expect that as the temperatures rise above freezing this coat will be just too hot to wear.Another peculiarity is the difficulty in using the zipper. It took me an hour to be able to figure out how to zip it up and it still takes me minutes to get it zipped.I still give it 4 stars because the quality and the looks are still top notch for the price and it will serve me well as a rather stylish winter coat and the initial quality would also suggest that it will last for years.

Very nice Jacket
Well made Jacket for the price. Amazon recommended an XL but I went with a 2XL based of the size guide. I'll be keeping it because I like to where it over sweaters, but and XL would have been correct if only wearing over a shirt. Surprisingly warm. Would recommend.

Wax coat at an unbeatable price
I am 6'4" tall and weigh 230lbs and this (L size) coat fits me perfectly. The coat is of absolutely splendid quality and makes the Barbour and Dubarry equivalents seem very overpriced indeed. The length is just right and the slot pockets are perfectly positioned and the coat is tremendously warm. W&H does make more expensive and presumably better coats, but I don't know what else you'd need from a waxed coat that this one does not provide; this coat comes highly recommended. The coat arrives newly waxed, so it's advisable to hang it out to dry off somewhere like your garage for about 48 hours before throwing it straight into the closet, or else the oily residue may rub off on other items. The hood is indeed small and seemingly inadequate, but I don't plan on using it very much, if at all. I am also reliably informed by those who wear this while hunting (I regrettably do not have the spare time for field sports), that the hood is necessarily small so the hunter retains a good field of vision; this is, I suppose, a fair trade for a wet face.Hunter or not, the hood is by the by for me, this is a great coat and it is impressive quality at a truly unbeatable price.

Fits well, warm against the cold nor'thern wind, zipper not the best
I bought this coat a week ago, and although it is not a winter weight coat it does well when layered. The waxed fabric creates a good wind block, and overall is fits well for a 42" width size. The one downside is that the (double) zipper is left hand, and can be tricky to get zipped / unzipped.

Great coat.
Cut the wind, rain runs off, like water off a ducks back. Size fits true. Very Happy with it!! Quality made!!

Beautiful Classic Waxed Cotton Coat for an Unbeatable Price
The image on your phone or desktop doesn’t do this coat justice. This beautiful 100% authentic waxed cotton coat is a must for any many who favors Classic Style over the puffer coats that shamefully has taken over the style now. With this coat you get protection from the elements with the waxed outer shell, warmth with the padding liner and your head covered with the included snap removable hood. A coat like this at Orvis will cost 3X as much easily. Save your money and buy this coat. You’ll look great and get a lot of compliments without breaking the bank.
