Q: Has anyone used these to store elderberry syrup? I make my own and haven’t found a jar or bottle I like yet to store and also not leak everywhere.

yes and yes! I use them for my kombucha, and they work great!

Q: Can you just use these to store filtered water in the fridge?

Sure, the amber color is just to block light from spoiling the contents of the bottle. Filtered water has no spoilable contents so they should be just fine.
