Exceeded All Expectations
I have no idea what the negative reviewers are writing about. The Knife I received is indeed a work of art. The blade should more accurately be advertised as "Modern Damascus" steel which is actually "Pattern Welded" steel. The word "welded" might throw some people off but what it refers to is metal or metals forge-welded together, twisted and manipulated to form a pattern. This is unfortunate terminology that evokes a vision of traditionally joining two or more pieces of metal together while the actual process occurs during forging the blade. Because of this, it's understandable that the knife blade is marketed only as "Damascus". It does have the Damascus patterning. It's a super hard blade extending through the length of the handle. I can't imagine breaking this blade through normal usage. This knife arrived in its own box. Wrapped in bubble wrap inside a plastic bag with the knife itself in an additional plastic bag and generously covered in oil to protect against oxidation. Needless to say, there was no rust. The knife edge arrived razor sharp. After carving a fireboard and whittling a spindle out of cedar (primitive bow and drill fire making) there is no sign of dulling. Some of these reviews have faulted the sheath for a number of reasons. Mine is a thick heavy leather sheath (brown) that has been well stitched with some serious heavy-duty thread (white). More than adequate whether worn vertical or horizontal. The vertical belt loop isn't any thinner than the one on my Buck Knife sheath but probably could have been riveted better. This is not a cause for immediate concern but over time, well, ???, we'll see. There are a number of sheaths on the market that will accommodate this knife should one choose to replace this one. Overall, this purchase has exceeded all my expectations.

What a power house
This knife has held up great for me since I got it. I use it just about every day and this thing holds up great. Obviously not going to intentionally break it but don’t have any fear of it breaking through daily abuse. Wish I had other styles from this company to add to my collection but I guess in time I will acquire them. Keep up the great work and thank you for making such a great product that is affordable

Was impressed at first
I was pleasantly surprised when I bought this month's ago. At first, I was not expecting solid blade, and craftsman ship. The handle was solid with good fitting groves that fit will in your hand. The blade felt solid, and was nicely designed. The first issue I noticed was with the sheath. It was covered in oil, I'm assuming to keep the leather soft. I wiped the leather down and hoped it would be enough. Almost immediately, more oil came out of the pores and seams of the sheath. After a few more wipes, I gave up. I put the knife back in the sheath and forgot about it in a drawer for a few months. I just took it out and removed it from the sheath. I was dissapointed when I found the blade had started to rust, or at least I thought it was rust. After further inspection, I realized quickly that it was stained from the leather oil that is still secreting from the sheath. As a Marine, I prefer my blades to be stained with other fluids and not leather oil. In any case, the stain does not come off and will probably require a stronger remover spray to be effective. I gave the review 3 stars because of the issues with the sheath. As a field knife, it will totally get the job done. The weight and balance feels great. The sharpness seems to last. I'll be putting it through the ringer now that I have a need for it.

TREAT YOURSELF
What a beautiful Handmade Damascus Steel Tracker work of ART from Poshland Knifes. The promotion price got my attention and even though I mostly buy daggers I decided to give this tracker a try. I found in worth every penny, and it brought me into the world of tracker knife's. When I want a knife for my collection I look for Handmade Damascus Steel. When I want one for me it's high carbon steel. I love this knife so much, my next one will be the Handmade High Carbon Steel Tracker TR-61 from Poshland Knife's, that I have already piked out. Another first for me is the cross draw sheath. The sheath comes with both regular hanging belt loop and the cross draw loops. It's a very nice sheath and I've had none of the problems with it that others have commented on. I like how well the cross draw is concealed under my shirt for a 10" knife. This knife is going into a display case. The TR-61 will go on my belt. The blade pattern is wonderful as is the Micarta handles and Muzik pin. Treat yourself. Buy the TR-1166 and at the promotion price, why wouldn't you.

Very Nice!
This knife actually exceeded my expectations, it's very beautiful and well made & balanced, I really like how it feels in the hand, and the sheath is pretty thick and so far durable on my belt and for the price I'm very pleased, may actually get another one that I can be a little harder on! A Big THANK YOU to the craftsmen!!!

All around performance and value!
I love a good tracker; they cut as well as any knife but chop almost as well as a hatchet! While so many other trackers are saw-backed or have serrations that can snag, rip, or tear on your clothes or gear, act as stress points where it could break on a chop, and make a pinch-grip on the blade for camp-cooking or finer carving cuts uncomfortable; THIS BEAUTY has a smooth, thick spine and full tang to survive brutal or repetitive chopping!Great Value!
