Awesome Clarifier – Works Like a Charm
I am a repeat customer because this pool water clarifier is seriously impressive. You only need a small amount, and it goes a long way. I use it when the pump is running and by the next day, the water was crystal clear. Super fast results and way easier than I expected. A must to keep on hand during the pool season.

This plus algaecide gave me the clearest pool i've ever seen.
I hope this helps someone...I came back from vaca to a pool with a filthy green bottom. It was not slimy so I wasn't too worried. I vacuumed to waste for about 75% of the pool then ran out of water so set to filter to finish. This is when it went so wrong. The pool got cloudy and green. I figured the filter was full and the water was bypassing somehow so I changed the filter. No change. left it running for 2 days, no change. Shocked the heck out of it, no change. So i'm thinking this must be algae so I bought hth super algae guard 60. Cleared it up over night, all settled to the bottom, filled the pool to the max and vacuumed to waste 100% of the pool. I thought i had it beat.5 days later, cloudy as i've ever seen it and green again.Researched the internet... pollen, has to be. So pollen is so small it will go right through the filter... great.More research... Super Blue Clarifier to the rescue. Amazon delivered it and i put it in the pool to the 'Opening pool' dosage. Filter running 24/7, no change after 2 days???Confirmed it is pollen, although pool looks green and can't see the bottom, the white steps have turned bright yellow.Put in more hth algaecide. Starting to clear, jump in the pool with the kids. Have fun.So i'm in the pool and go over by the Cat Tails that the previous owners planted next to the pool because they thought they looked cool. I touched one... what seemed like a 1/2 cup of yellow powder slowly drifts down into my pool. I look at my wife and she looks at me... holy crap, these dumb cat tails have been dumping dozens of pounds of pollen directly into my pool.I immediately get out and grab the bypass trimmers. While i'm at it i hack down the ornamental grass that is delivering seeds into my pool on teh other side. Cut down all the cat tails.FF 2 days, my pool has never been this clear before... ever. We just moved in and that's not saying much but its clearer than my previous pool that i maintained for 6 years.Between the Super Blue and the algaecide (must have some Aluminum Sulphate or some other clumping agent as well) i can't get over how beautiful it looks and the July 4th party is today so i won't be embarrassed to own a swamp.

best kept secret
I was very skeptical. Our readings were normal zero algae. Put this in our pool and woke up to our normal. Follow the directions which are pretty simple and backwash.

Robarb - All 5 stars and then some
Robarb's Super Blue has been around for as long as I can recall, and it's the standard for all other clarifiers, both in performance and packaging. I personally have been using it for over 25 years [primarily when I was in the pool business], and I can't even tell you if Robarb puts out any other products anymore. This is their signature product and money maker.Robarb Super Blue is simple and has two primary tasks:1) Clump particles together to allow the filter (even sand filters) to remove them2) Clump particles together so that they are heavy enough to drop outWhile all this is great for just run of the mill particulate such as dust and dirt, where RSB really shines [literally] is in the removal of dead algae that makes the pool cloudy. You can shock the algae all day long and it will bleach out like your momma's best linens. But it is so small that it flows right through a sand filter and right back into the pool again. You must either make it bigger so that it gets trapped, or so that it falls out.How Robarb works is something I don't know for sure, but I do suspect it removes a positive charge from particles so that they don't repel each other. That is how some air filters work. What I do know is that while there may be other products that rival RSB, none can really claim to beat it.For just bringing back a base shine to your water, be sure to first adjust your pH range to the upper end, at about 7.6, then add a couple of ounces to the skimmer and let it run. You'll see new shine just a day or so. However, if you are in need of clearing up a white pool after killing out a major algae bloom, this product will still work, but all printed directions are completely irrelevant.Following an algae bloom that's been killed off by your sanitizer, check the pH again. It should be adjusted back to the 7.6 to 7.8 range. Then pour 1 full quart per 10,000 gallons of pool water directly into the skimmer. Yes, that's a lot and a lot more than the directions specify. But it's not toxic and won't hurt anything. Let your pool pump run for about 2 hours to adequately circulate the material and then shut off the pump for a full 24 hours. At this point, your pool should be quite clear, but there will be a film of dead algae on the floor of the pool. Adjust your filter valve to the "vac to waste" setting and vacuum your pool in this position where it will pull all the algae from the floor and push it out your backwash pipe. Most as quickly as you can because you are losing pool water every second
