Great for labeling cables while remodeling
I am in the process of refinishing my basement and wanted something so I could label all my cat5e, speaker, and cable wires at the ends before encasing everything in drywall making it impossible to track each wire back to its source. This works well on all three types of cables. To use these you write on the label while it is still in the yellow distributor, pull on the end to release the label, then wrap the label around the cable. The labels have a built in clear section that will cover and protect your writing which is really nice. I

Quick and easy.
When you need to quickly label some cables and don't want to type out labels on your label maker, this is definitely easy. Easy to write on with a fine tip Sharpie and then peel off. Rolls around the cable just fine, and the extra clear part goes right over what you wrote so there is no chance of it smudging or rubbing off. I will continue to use these since they work perfectly. I just have to write neatly :)

Check the winding direction!
These labels do the job, but mine arrived with an important flaw. The spool of labels was rolled in reverse! I'm not just talking about how the unit was threaded - the roll of labels actually had to be rewound, with what had been the leader end going on the spool core first. As received, they would not separate as they were pulled from the dispenser, because the clear tail was ahead of the white writing area. They need to be the other way around. Can't understand how they could be shipped this way. Someone would have had to go to the effort of rewinding the labels the wrong way.Once that was corrected, the labels dispense correctly and are great for labeling network, audio and video cables. I like them better than tags or flags that stick out. In a crowded area like at a switch, these are easier to read. I suggest attaching them a little way from the plug. If too close, you may not be able to rotate the wire enough to see the label side if it winds up under or behind another cable.

No Sticky Mess
I bought one about five years ago when I moved into a new place and had to wire both Ethernet and home audio. All of the labels have remained attached to the cables for five years. Most of the labels remained readable. The labels I placed where the cable had a hard bend were harder to read. My advice: place the label where the cable will be straight, on the connector itself or a few inches back from the connector. And use a good felt-tip pen. This week I'm re-doing the audio setup. I figured that when I removed the old labels there would be sticky junk left on my cables. There is NONE. Most of the old labels came off perfectly clean with no residue at all. A few left a sort of gum that was easy to remove with just my fingers. Quick and easy. No chemicals needed. When this one runs out, I will definitely get another.

Quite Useful, Strong Glue
Quite useful. I needed to label 150 wire ends in my studio and this did the trick. Whether tabbing or full on.It's sticky, so getting off is a trick. That's probably a good thing though. Writing with pen worked."permanent" maker smudged as did gel. Stick to a normal pen and you're golden.

Expensive and no refills?
I thought it cost to much and I couldn't find any refills. I guess refills would cost the same so just buy a new one. The sticker does not stick well if your hands are a slight dirty or greasy. Otherwise it will work good for labeling wires. Some labels go to waste due to dirt or grime. Should provide 1 refill.

Doesnt function
The tape always ends up going underneath and gets stuck. I have to roll it back to get it going again.

Perfect
Super impressed, perfect for labeling cables. I recommend a fine tip sharpie to use with it. Easy to shrink with a hair dryer.

Works great, once you get there
Overall the product works well, but it is a bit of a pain getting there first. To start, the thing has stickers all over it, which must be cut/removed, before the product can be used. Both sides of the unit need to have their stickers slit in the middle, so you can actually open the unit up. The bottom 'cover' has a huge sticker on it too, mentioning a cancer/birth defect warning? Lovely. This needs to be removed so you can open up that bottom window. It is extremely sticky and left a real mess on my unit, needing alcohol and a hard rub, to get rid of it all.So... why did I need to do all this? Because the damn roll of stickers on the inside was BACKWARDS. Yes, it was rolled in the wrong direction, which meant the clear sticker part came out before the label and I had to unwind and rewind the thing, before it work. After all this was said and done, it does work well. I should not have had to go through all this before I could use the product, but I am glad that when I went to use it, the label was easy to write on, dispensed well and sticks great onto the audio cables of my studio. I wasted quite a few stickers in the process of the above mentionings, but with 200 of them, this should hopefully last me awhile and I do think this is a better investment than the Hosa alternative, I was going to order. If you have cables you need to label reliably, but have patience to deal with the BS to get there, you can get this and be satisfied.
