I BOUGHT 3 OF THESE SHRIMP DEVEINERS AND GAVE THEM AWAY AS GIFTS. EVERYONE I GAVE THEM TO SAID THEY WORK BETTER THAN ANY PLASTIC ONES, THEY HAVE EVER BOUGHT IN THE PAST..

This is exactly like the one that I received from my mother-in-law years ago. I bought one for my mother and one for my daughters.

Never knew this existed, wish I had found out 50 years ago. Easy to use, cleans instantly, removes the shell and deveins.Occasionally you have to pull the devein string from the back, but its always easy. Highly recommend this one. Read all the reviews before buying this one. Glad I did. Don't want one with the serrations on the top edge, it will cut the shell and make it harder to remove. Takes about 5 shrimp to get the hang, then its fast work, Use a glove on the shrimp hand.

I got my aluminum shrimp deveiner after I snapped the point off of our plastic model we bought years ago at a fish store. When this aluminum tool arrived, I stuck it in the dishwasher - gotta be clean.Later, after running the washer I noticed that the shiny finish was gone and it came out of the basket a dull gray. Yeech!Not sure what happened in there but I suspect it was all about chemistry. Most dish washing detergents have strong Chlorine compounds in them - (Al + CL = dull gray).Have not had shrimp since I got the thing but based on the dull, ugly finish, I wonder if using it on food is a good idea...Not exactly a glowing recommendation.Caveat Emptor
